2023 Annual Report
We are thrilled to announce the release of our 2023 Annual Report, detailing a year of impactful work and community collaboration at Family Promise of Ozaukee County. This report showcases our achievements, including the successful operation of the Portlight Shelter, expanding our volunteer network, and providing comprehensive support to families in need.
A Year of Growth and Impact
2023 was a landmark year for Family Promise of Ozaukee County. Our Portlight Shelter has been in operation for just over a year, and in that time, we’ve been able to assist more families and individuals than ever before. Our efforts have included expanding our staff threefold, adding a robust benefits package for them, hosting several community events, and beginning our next strategic planning phase. These accomplishments were made possible through the unwavering support of our agency partners, community members, volunteers, and generous donors.
Community Events
The holiday season at Portlight Shelter was particularly special, thanks to the community’s outpouring of generosity. The Afternoon Rotary Club of Thiensville-Mequon hosted the Rotary Deck the Halls Decorating Party, bringing festive cheer with a beautifully adorned Christmas tree and decorations. Their thoughtful gift card donations further brightened the holidays for our guests. Throughout the year, we celebrated with special holiday meals, group grill-outs, and themed events like the Packer Chili Party, fostering a sense of warmth and belonging among our guests, volunteers, and staff.
Supporting Families and Building Futures
Our commitment to supporting families extended beyond the holiday season. In 2023, we directly served 377 individuals, including 215 children, through a full range of services. We also fielded 947 calls seeking information and guidance to prevent homelessness. Our comprehensive programs, such as case management, rapid re-housing, and the Youth Homeless Demonstration Program, provided essential support to those in need. Notably, we expanded our volunteer network to 23 Ozaukee County congregations, significantly increasing our community involvement.
Looking Ahead to 2024
As we look ahead to 2024, we are excited to continue our mission with renewed energy and strategic focus. Our goals for the coming year include enhancing sustainability through diversified fundraising, unveiling a new mission and vision statement, expanding mental health services, and strengthening collaboration with local agencies to streamline service delivery. We are committed to guiding families home, one plan at a time.
